Summary Assists in providing support services for people with developmental disabilities in a homelike enviroment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assist individuals in daily-care prctices such as bathing and dressing.
Converses with individuals to reinforce positive behaviors and to promote cocial interaction.
Assist in planning and preparation of meals and if prscribed in the individual’s program eats with individuals to act as a role model.
Accompanies individuals on shopping trips, and assist/support individuals in purchase of personal items.
Assist individuals participating in therapeutic activities, such as physical exercises, occupational arts and crafts, and recreational games.
Redirect and follow protective intervention plans for disruptive individuals to prevent injury to themselves and others.
Observes and documents individuals’ behavior, such as speech production, feeding patterns, and toilet training, to facilitate assessment and development of goals and objectives.
Attends to routine health care needs of individuals per the individuals’ physician.
Gives medications as prescribed by Physician.
Transport individuals to work, doctor appointments, activities as prescribed per consumer’s individual program.

Qualifications – To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience – High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Language Skills – Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations – Current Oklahoma driver’s license with a good driving record;
