Summary – Supervises staff and assist in providing support services for people with developmental disabilities in a homelike enviroment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities – include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Orders supplies and determines need for maintenance, repairs, and furnishings.
Assist in planning recreational activities and supervises daily activities.
Assist individuals in identifying and resolving social or other problems.
Compiles records of daily activities of individuals.
Attend group-sponsored trips and social functions.
Ascertains need for and secures services of physician.
Answers telephone and sorts and distributes mail.
Escorts individuals on trips for shopping or to obtain medical or dental services.
Plans menus.
Must be able to perform all essential duties and responsibilites of a Habilitation Training Specialist.
Supervisory Responsibilites – Directly supervises 2 to 6 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilites in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsiblities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and redirecting employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience – High school diploma or general education degree (GED); six months of related experience and/or training; all DDSD required training.
Language Skills – Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations – Current Oklahoma driver’s licens with a good driving record, all required DDSD training.
Other Requirement – Must be 21 years of age. Must not have been convicted, or pled guilty or nolo contendere to any felony or misdemeanor assault and battery. Name cannot be listed on the Community Services Registry involving persons with developmental disabilities.
